Coda for iPad? Yes, please!

Being a web developer and iPhone user, I've dreamed of being able to edit web pages on my iPhone. Alas, the tools do not exist - not good ones, anyway. And, even if they did, the iPhone screen size just isn't big enough to comfortably do web work.

Enter iPad. Big screen. Hmm.

On my Mac, I use Coda (awesome software from Panic) to edit HTML and maintain WoowooMac.com and other web sites. With Coda, you can edit HTML, preview web pages, tweak CSS, upload files, manage files, and much more - all in one window, in an application designed (very nicely) for web developers.

I can imagine using Coda on an iPad, much as I do on a Mac. If you have similar imaginings, indulge in the humorous and hopeful article, "Theory: Panic is developing an iPad version of Coda".

Then, head on over to panic.com and send a note to the folks at Panic to voice your vote and support for an iPad version of Coda.

Always hopeful, Jackie Macapanpan [WoowooMac Editor]

Update: On April 14 on the Panic Blog, Cabel from Panic said, "We really do appreciate the interest in “future versions of Coda”! It’s a huge project and we’re all in the thick of it right now." (Woowoo!)

I really hope coda (or some programmers of like stature) build an app so we can build or create media on the ipad and not just consume it.

Good post.
