Create To Do Items from Apple Mail

Quite often (maybe too often for some of us) email messages have one or more tasks in them - things to add to a to do list. Here's a nice and easy way to quickly add any number of to do items from an email to iCal.

In an email message, highlight text for a to do. Then, click the To Do button (in the tool bar at the top of the message window). A yellow area (mimicking lined yellow paper) will slide open and you'll see the highlighted text listed.

Click the circled arrow to the left of the item to open a little window that let's you set a due date, alarm and priority for the to do.

To do items created this way are automatically added to iCal. Plus, in iCal, they link back to the original email message you had created the to do from.
