Read Comics on iPad
Reading books on an iPad is something every iPad owner knows you can do. Yet, the iPad screen is great for more than written words. View rich, colorful (and of course, entertaining) comics on the large, brilliant screen of an iPad.
Enjoy epic clashes between superheroes and villains. Journey through time and space. Tag along with monster hunters. A number of iPad apps make comic reading an incredible digital experience.
Comics
"Comics" from ComiXology leads the pack. View full-color comics panel-for-panel right on your iPad. Comics has the largest comics library and store on the iPhone, with over 2,300 comics and more added every week. You'll find titles from many publishers, including Marvel, DC, Image Comics, Red 5 and Zenoscope.
Read classic and new issues of the Xmen, Batman, Spiderman and many others. Heralded titles like Invincible, Atomic Robo and many other comics from independent publishers are available, too. Comics are available for purchase from the in-app store, typically $0.99-$1.99 an issue. You can purchase collections, as well. And, there are lots of free comics to download.
What makes Comics special is the way you view comics. Read a comic page-by-page or use ComiXology's patent pending Guided View. Guided View leaves the entire comic page intact,
and leads you through a dynamically masked view of the panels. You view each panel, automatically zoomed to fit the iPad screen. Swipe your finger to view the next panel. It's a surprisingly satisfying way to read comics.
DC Comics
Using ComiXology's viewing engine, read comics exclusive to DC: Batman, Superman, Green Lantern, Justice League and many more. There's free comics to read too, including the origins of favorite DC heroes.
Marvel Comics
Xmen, Fantastic Four, Spiderman and many other titles from the Marvel universe await you, to view on the iPad's large screen. The Marvel Comics app also benefits from Comixology's comic-reading engine.
Comics Zeal Comic Reader
If you have comics in the popular CBR or CBZ digital comic formats, then the Comic Zeal Comic Reader is a necessity for your iPad. Transfer comic files to an iPad easily using iTunes file transfer. You can also transfer comics wirelessly using Comic Sync, available for download from the Comic Zeal web site.
Comics, DC Comics and Marvel Comics apps are available free from the App Store. Individual titles are available from their in-app stores for $0.99-$1.99, for most issues. Comic Zeal Comic Reader for iPad is available from the App Store for $7.99.
