StarCraft II: Wings of Liberty - A Great Game and a Great Game Guide
The long-awaited sequel to the popular real-time strategy game, StarCraft II: Wings of Liberty from Blizzard Entertainment, is now available for happy computer commanders everywhere.
The StarCraft universe is set in the 26th century. Three races fight for galactic dominance: the Terrans (humans from Earth); the Zerg (a race of intelligent insects); and the the Protoss (humanoid beings with advanced technologies).
As you might expect, StarCraft II introduces new units and new strategies to the game. Terrain (now multi-level) plays a bigger part in the game, and there are units that take advantage of it.
The first version of StarCraft was shipped about a decade ago. While the game stays very true to it's predecessor, it is definitely a modern game with high-quality 3D graphics, fluid unit and environment animations and well-evolved Internet multiplayer play.
StarCraft II Strategy Guide
If you're new to StarCraft, we recommend the StarCraft II: Wings of Liberty Strategy Guide from BradyGames. This is without a doubt one of the best game guides we've seen for any game, with a spoiler-free campaign walkthrough, detailed unit info, strategies, tips from the pros, maps and much more.
Here's a sample of the many, many great multiplayer game tips and tactics in the guide:
"Place your first worker scout on your opponent's natural expansion. If they are going for a quick expand, they'll have to chase off your worker, which can result in wasted time before the expansion goes up."
"...a pair of Queens can act as a decent defense against early aerial Overlord harassment. By using your two Queens in concert, along with Transfusion, you can scare away light raids of air units, before you have access to Hydrakisks."
"You can use flying units to grant line of sight to higher ground - this is particularly useful when you have ranged units on a lower level."
