Sync Palm Pre and Palm Pixi with Your Mac
Out of the box, Palm Pre and Pixi can sync contacts and calendars with Facebook, Microsoft Exchange, and Google. If you don't use these services, you can connect your Pre and Pixi to your Mac and sync with iCal, Address Book, iTunes and iPhoto. Mark/Space (some might remember them for The Missing Sync for Palm OS) has two products that can to this, depending on what you want to sync.
GoGadget for webOS
If you want to sync media from iTunes and iPhoto, GoGadget for webOS makes it easy to get music, video and pictures onto your phone. And, it just works - unlike the hacked iTunes support Palm tries to offer. Which, at the time this article was posted, does not work.
Use GoGadget to create ringtones from iTunes music, too. It has a built-in ringtone editor.
The Missing Sync for Palm Pre
Sync your contacts and calendar between your Phone and Address Book and iCal with The Missing Sync for Palm Pre. (It works with Palm Pixi, too.)
The Missing Sync uses something they call "Proximity Sync" to sync contact info and calendar events wirelessly via bluetooth. And, it does it automatically. The Missing Sync senses when your phone is near you Mac and performs a sync. It's quite cool, actually. You don't have to remember to keep your contacts and calendars in sync between your Mac and phone.
Plus, The Missing Sync syncs with iTunes and iPhoto, just like GoGadget.
GoGadget for webOS is $19.95 (and there's a free trial, too). The Missing Sync for Palm Pre is $39.95. Both are available from the Mark/Space company web site.
